Making a film and need a soundtrack?
From drama to action, comedy to horror, sound can play a vital role in your storytelling.
Elephant’s Chatter
Taken from my work on the film Maybe We’re Not Broken, Elephant’s Chatter is a textured orchestral piece which serves to accentuate the Avant-Guard plot shown on screen. Hesitant, restrained, and frustrated, the piece ties the chemistry between characters to the implied past they share.
The focus of any given scene is often shared amongst dialogue, action, cinematography, and music. For those scenes requiring the dialogue to take a backseat in the name of symbolism and cinematography, specialized pieces can form the cornerstone of filmmakers’ toolkits.
Cigarillo Squint
Taken from my work on the film Varsity Squad, Cigarillo Squint is an orchestral character theme which centers around one of the primary protagonists in the film: Dylan. Capable and confident, the character’s straightforward strategy to handling conflict remains evident throughout the piece.
Although not all films are high-octane action pieces, filmmakers often discover that musical works dedicated to central characters and groups lay a solid tonal foundation to allow the performances of actors to shine.
A Window to Fly Through
Taken from my work on the film Bridgehurst Asylum for the Sane, A Window to Fly Through is an intimate, romantic, piano-centric piece which was created to accompany the romance between two characters in the film, Harry and Holly.
While some projects may call for complex, bombastic soundtracks, others may find filmmakers looking for simple, heartfelt musical narratives which serve to accentuate the script, performances, and cinematography of the work.
